Gift Wrapping Video | Embellished Ornaments Stampin' Up! GDP053

September 12, 2016

When I was a teenager  I worked during a Christmas holiday in a book store and the girl in the wrapping section was struggling so I wen't to her rescue and we wrapped books like a crazy! This was over 20 years ago and I still remember how to wrap books and how much I enjoyed it.

So  today  after thinking a lot  about  Global Design  Colour Challenge this week I decided to share the way a wrap square presents and keep my project  very simple using the gorgeous Embellished Ornaments Bundle  by Stampin' Up! to stamp my own wrapping paper  and Bow Builder Punch to make a huge decorative bow.

This week we are making projects using Gold, Night of navy,  Watermelon Wonder colours by Stampin' Up!

So this wrapping technique is ideal for square items, it is super simple and elegant.

The  wrapping paper size need to be bigger than your present, enough to wrap it around and leaving a bit extra to the top and sides to be able to play with it.

In other words the size of the wrapping paper :
  • Width:  Gift width ( bearing  in mind the height of the present as well) x2 + 1/2 of the width.
  • Length:  Gift  Length  ( bearing  in mind the height of the present as well)  + 1/2 of the lenght.

And a secret.. but shhhh! don't tell anybody. I had another project for today but I changed my mind last minute.

I wanted to share with you a circular box  idea with a golden embellishment on the top but when I finished  it I did run to show the box to my  daughter Paula.

When she saw it she hold her breath for some seconds an then  she said: "the box is cool but the bow  is too big mum

I immediately confirm my biggest fear :  she is right!!!!

So I asked her : do you think it might be a good decoration for a gift?  and she said: Yes! absolutely! Plop!!

So after spending the whole morning making a circular box.. etc I change my mind in the last minute so I tear up the bow from the box and I made something else.

I  used a generic gold cardstock to make the bow.  It is quite tick and darker in Colour than Stampin ' Up! Gold Foil Sheets. I regret not using Gold Foil Paper by SU to make this bow as it will look far much beautiful but the clock was thinking and this was a draft  ( Sunday 10:00 pm)
