BEST BIRDS STAMP SET BY STAMPIN' UP! GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT COLOUR CHALLENGE GDP045

July 18, 2016

One of the most challenging things to do when designing a card is choosing the colour combo so  I love colour challenges because they make my work easier.

And this week on  Global Desing Project we are launching a  beautiful Colour Challenge for you to enjoy or participate.

For my entry today I have used Best Birds Bundle by Stampin' Up!  I used the colours in different ways and added a few different elements that give a complete look an feel to each project.

Colour challenge: Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Melon Mambo.

The challenge this week is to make a paper craft project using :Smoky Slate, Melon Mambo and Basic Black colours.  So you can use inks, paper, card stock,  embellishments,  ribbons, threads or washi tape in these colours.

You can use a neutral card stock  background such as whisper white card stock, watercolor paper or shimmery white paper.  The possibilities are endless.

Simple  CLICK HERE  or the picture below to participate
or have a look at  what everybody  is making!

This week  you will also have the opportunity to be chosen as guest designer  in the next colour challenge. 1 winner will be selected! so come and share your talent with us, showcase your work while promoting your blog  among our large community of paper craft lovers.

Cards size: 6"x 4.5" / 15 x 10 cm
For my cards today I used White Shimmery white paper. This paper is just amazing for stamping,  coloring  and water coloring as it really absorbs the ink evenly and keeps vibrant colours.

For the card base of the card above I  used the half of an  A4  black  sheet of card stock folded in half.

Using the background stamp in the set I stamped the background in Smoky Slate and Melon Mambo ink using the "marker to stamp technique", so I got the corners of this image in Melon Mambo while the rest of the image is gray .

I used  Basic Black archival ink to stamp  the bird  (on White Shimmery paper ) and I cut the bird using coordinating dies. I coloured the bird  with  Smoky Slate and Melon  Mambo ink pads+  aqua painters and I passed over the Wink of Stella.

I splattered the background with  Melon Mambo ink using the  aqua painters, then I pasted the bird and the flowers with Stampin Dimensionals and I  used Rhinestone Basic Jewels to embellish.

For the card below I fallow the same steps than for the card above but this time I  used Gold  Stampin emboss powder  and clear Versamark ink to stamp the  background, the bird and flowers.

I used a smoky slate card base and  I  cut a quirky banner ( Foxy Friends DSP) and stamped the sentiment with Basic Black Archival ink and Melon Mambo ( I used the Misti stamping tool to stamp the sentiment in 2 different colours. This can also be done using Stamp to Marker Technique").
