I have to admit that I'm not a balloon person but as I was chosen to be display stamper for our last convention Stampin' Up! sent me some products to create card samples. When the box with products arrived I saw the ballon dies and the stamps and I said to myself: ho no....I'm in troubles! The true is that I didn't know what I could do with them. There was not ideas online to use as reference, not instructions to use the new products (specially the dies).
So yes! I was amongst the first people who could grab these products and try them! and despite that it seems that people have tried everything with balloons stamps and you can find tones of balloon card ideas I couldn't fine ANY stamp set or any pop- up die with balloons as the ones Stampin' Up! have created... I love them! This was my first card made with this tools.. many more coming soon
Pool party, Peekaboo peach, Crushed Curry, Elegant Eggplant, Flirty Flamingo were the ink colours I used to stamp this card.
I stamped twice each ballon to get better images as this is photopolymer stamp set and sometimes is not easy to achieve a perfect stamped bold image . Then to create shadows I applied the "rock and roll technique", I just inked the edges of the stamp and stamp over the images again with the same ink colour. It was easy to see through the stamps and aligned the images.
Using the Misti Stamping tool I stamped the big sentiment with Elegant Eggplant ink and I stamped it over with clear Versamark ink to apply clear embossing powder and make it glossy.
I added colour to the founts using Tempting Tuorqoise Stampin' Write Marker.
I stamped some solid balloons in a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock and I die cut them later with the balloon dies in Balloon Pop-Up thinlits dies.
Using Ballon Bouquet Punch I punched out balloons out of acetate and I paste them behind the ballon die cuts using Tombow glue.
To finish I used Foam Adhesive Stripes to paste the balloon die cuts on the front panel and also to give a little bit of dimension.
Don't ask me why but I decided to use Crushed Curry cardstock and a piece of Party Animal DSP behind the front panel .
And that's all, I hope you enjoy the card today!
