MIRROR IMAGE CARDMAKING TECHNIQUE ♥ WETLANDS STAMP SET FROM STAMPIN UP

January 28, 2015

Hello lovely crafters, I want to share with you some card making techniques today and a  card I have designed using Wetlands Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Geese are loyal mates for life and I thought this would be an ideal theme for sharing inspirational messages about friendship, leadership and team work. I really enjoyed making this project because my aim was to apply different techniques in one single card and this clever stamp set gave me that opportunity.

I enjoy nature and how can I not be in love with nature themed cards when I'm living in the Scottish Highlands? It is a place bursting to the seams with stunning and magical scenery. I think that making cards that remind us of the beauty of our world is worth more than a million words.

Bearing this in mind, when I saw this stamp set in the Stampin' Up! 2014-2015 Catalog I knew I had to have it. I love the high definition image, the stunning typography, the fact that it matches perfectly with watercolour techniques and I can give to my projects the look and feel of a small painting. I'm just overwhelmed with the endless possibilities for designing stationery products with this stamp set.

I have copied part of the speech “5 Lessons from Geese” by Angeles Arrien, and I have added the beautiful message in the inside of the card as show in thepictures.

Paper measurements in inches:
Kraft Card: 12 x 8 ½
Yellow background: 7 ½ x 5 ½
Confetti designer paper :  7”x4.5”
Whisper white card to print the image on: x ½ x 4 ¼
Memos: 6 ¼ x 4 ½

I also have uploaded a video tutorial to my youtube channel  linked below to show you  how I have made this composition using 4 different techniques and some tips.
I hope you enjoy it!
