LAYERED VELLUM BUTTERFLIES TUTORIAL + GRATEFUL BUNCH STAMPIN UP
July 11, 2016
Hi there, I'm sharing another project with similar features to my entry for Global Design Project Challenge today.
This time I used the little butterfly stamp in Grateful Bunch Stamp Set to show you how I make layered vellum butterflies. I think these are very simple and effective embellishments for your paper craft projects . I hope you like them!

Vellum Butterfly in Bermuda Bay ink and cardstock |
I stamped the butterflies on watercolor paper and on vellum with water based Stampin ' Up! inks. for better results please allow the ink to dry on the vellum for a while (over 5 minutes).
Those stamped on vellum were hand cut using scissors then I overlaid them one on top of each other and using my sewing machine I apply a few stitches in the center of their wings.
Glue or glue dots can also be used to assemble this butterflies. I just like the way the paper folds over the stitches so I prefer to sew them, it makes a pretty butterfly or wings.
TIP: to stamp on vellum or glossy surfaces, including glass, I use Jet Black Stazon ink as it dries fast and produce a more delicate, crisp and defined images and fonts. With slow drying inks the minimum wobble of the stamp on the card stock will spoil your work.
Archival inks are a bit thicker so the fonts will look a bit bold as well.

Thanks for sharing how the 2 black inks react to vellum. Really pretty tags.
