Blossom Builder Punch Wafer Paper Flowers | Video GDP#051
August 30, 2016
I like to try different things with my Stampin' Up! supplies and for the challenge this week on Global Design Project I made wafer paper flowers using Blossom Builder Punch from Stampin' Up!
And this is my entry for Global Design Project this week: Theme Food.
oh! look you can also decorate cupcakes or cakes with this wafer flowers!
I had this idea in my mind for months... I'm so glad it comes true and to be honest this is the very first time I give it a try.
I watched loads of video tutorials online about cookie making, royal icing and wafer paper and they gave me a general idea to make this project but is different when you actually try to do it. There is loads of things to discover while making something new but once you know.. you know!
Making the flowers is easy - peasy!
Making the flowers is easy - peasy!
Here a short list of good videos to make this project:
- Easy cookies. I had to add more flour to make the dough but I like the recipe.
- royal icing very comprehensive video by Julia M Usher
- here is another really good royal icing video
- I love this recipe for gingerbread cookies
I didn't know which could be the right materials and the right technique to make the whole project as in the UK you find different ingredients ( specially cookie making) but once the baking and the icing is done the decoration of this cookies/ biscuits is very easy.
- Wafer paper ( white generic)
- Designer icing by Dr. Oetker (£2 hobbycraft or Tesco)
- Pink Food colouring by Wilton ( £2.80 Hobbycraf . Excellent the best for stamping on wafer paper)
- Yellow and blue food colouring by Tesco ( to create the green in the leaves - strong flavor, not good for stamping)
- White shimmery pearls (Tesco)
I used Stampin' Up! Blosom Builder Punch to make the wafer paper flowers in this post and other Stampin' Up! Supplies for decorations ( find supplies list at the bottom of this post)
