Spellbinders Large die of the month - July 2018 | 50 PCS Alphabet die set
July 15, 2018
I had the luck to try the Large Die of the Month by Spellbinders which is a super cool layerable alphabet die set. It contains 50 pieces that can be used not only to cut but also to emboss, deboss or stencil personalized messages on any papercraft project.
You get 25 dies to create marquee style letters and 25 to cut the outline of the fonts...
I also used Layered Tulips etched dies by Spellbinders to complete this card.
The size of the fonts is 1 -1/3" height x 1" width ( the width of each letter may vary from 1" to 1-1/4" ) this is 4x 2.5 cm approx.
The size of this card is 6"x5"(15x13cm).
I really wanted to die cut a sentiment or a name along the edge of the front panel of a card so here I go ...
Using the outline dies I applied an easy partial die cutting technique to cut the word "love" at the edge of a panel. I die cut the word "hello" using the marquee letter dies. Although it never crossed my mind to make a shaker card, I wanted to add dimension behind this word and I used double sided foam to stick the panel on a melon mambo card base, then I applied glue in the negative space of the fonts and I sprinkled confetti. I die cut the fonts L, O, V, E, using the marquee fonts from different cardstock colour and I glued them on the word "love" at the edge of the panel. Notice that the card base is cut in such way that the word "love" is completely out of the edge. Spellbinders have several Subscription Kit Clubs, one of them is the Large Die Of The Month only available at Spellbinders website here. I think they are great value for money. I loved working with this supplies. |
