Winter Floral Layereder set
Layering Stencils Video Post | Winter Floral Layered Set by Simon Says Stamp
October 15, 2019Oh my! I'm loving Winter Floral Layering Set by Simon Says Stamp from Cheer and Joy Release here!
What a cool layered stencil. It consists of 4 stencils that you can use to create a multicolor stenciled image.
I have in my stash several Nuvo embellishment and Expanding Mousses and Christmas time is a good time to make these mousses shine!
The mousses :
- Dry fast
- Are opaque
- Add sparkle and shine
- Add a nice subtle texture

I didn't activate the expanding mousses BTW as I wanted a smooth and shiny finishing.
The expanding mousses will turn mat and rough if you heat set them.
To bear in mind
- These mousses are waterbased.
- They will activate with water so avoid applying water or waterbased products over the dry mousses. This will affect the stenciled image.
- They are fully blendable. Mix mousses to achieve different color shades or mix them with other waterbased products to create new colors as well.
- Warning: The mousses will dry if you don't close the container properly. I seal the containers using Pres'n Seal, clean film or foil to keep the product moistured.
For some of the cards in this post, I also made simple watercolor backgrounds using an inexpensive makeup brush to spread Nuvo Aqua Flow pens pigments diluted with a little bit of water on watercolor paper.
Any watercolor paper will be good to do this.
I also spray water and Mica Mist over the watercolour backgrounds to add extra texture and interest.
So prepare yourself to get your hands a bit dirty and enjoy multilayer stencils and Nuvo Mousses.
That's all for today.
Happy crafting!
Happy crafting!

Simple sentiments stamp set
Simon Says Stamp You are Loved Blog Hop + Hearts Stencil
January 10, 2019Hello from the Scottish Highlands, welcome to Simon Says Stamp You are Loved Blog Hop + Giveaway.
We gather together to share ideas and inspiration using beautiful love/ friendship themed supplies from the latest Simon Says Stamp release.
Explore the whole You are Loved Release here and get a free gift with any purchase! Yay.
I tried soooo many things with the stencil and I liked the results every time. However, I decided to put together very minimalistic and contemporaneous cards that will be easy to mass produce with a minimum investment in supplies.
- So all the cards in this blog post measure 5"x5" inches.
- To finish them I also used and 3-3/4" inches square die to die cut and frame the stencilled images. I tried a stitched edge die and it didn't work so nice so I leave it as simple as it is
- I also decided to use a 4-1/2" inches Scallop Square die by Honey Bee Stamps to die cut a backing panel and add an extra decorative element without overwhelming any other part of the cards.
***All supplies listed below...
I first started by spraying temporary adhesive on the back of All My Heart Stencil to be able to adhere it to the cardstock and make the ink blending even easier.
I sprayed very little adhesive as well and I wait for it to dry over the stencil before placing it on the paper to avoid the cardstock getting stuck to the stencil as this can tear it.
Then, I applied a mix of Oxide and Tradicional Distress inks on each panel. As you might know already the same ink colours looks different depending on the kind of ink you use. I love the brightness of traditional Distress ink but the Oxides opacity add even nicer touches to any project.
I applied a heavy coat of each shade using Nuvo blending sponges. I then spray the paper with water and I also splattered the ink of a Nuvo Shimmer Pen to add some sparkle and I was done!
Psss.. avoid any excess of water over the stencil as it could leak underneath the stencil and it will affect the stencilled image definition.
Ok so for the cards below I used Mother Pearl Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and I applied Distress inks on top. I didn't even allow the mousse to dry and to e honest these cards are hot. I really love these cards. They are beautiful in flesh although they are not photogenic.
I embellished with sequins and I was done!

Silver Nuvo Products
Sparkle Dust
The Sparkle of Nuvo Product Range | Silver Paper Box
May 10, 2017
Last week Paula Pascal from Tonic Studios was kindly asking the team to make a couple of projects using Nuvo Glimmer Paste, Nuvo Embossing Powder, Sparkle Dust, Nuvo Crystal Drops, Nuvo Glitter Drops, Nuvo Mousses, and I promptly answer saying: I'm in!
I really never used Glimmer Paste before but I was curious to try these products several months ago.
Not knowing what I was going to do really, I started by making some backgrounds and I used some of them for the 3 projects in my blog today. These 3 projects were samples for Yesterday's shows at www.hochanda.com where you can see demonstrations and order online Tonic Studios products (UK - Europe ). If you are in USA- Canda or anywhere else you can buy Tonic Studios -Nuvo products at Simon Says Stamp Shop Here!
Ok, so this time Tonic Studios commission was for a monochromatic project made using all the products in the picture below ...
WOW I'll be honest with you... that's a lot of sparkle for 1 single project!!
I manage to keep the balance by cutting a 4"x4" panel that completely transform a dull box.
.
I added texture to the topper panel using Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Silver Gem and I mixed it a bit with Nuvo Glimmer Paste - Black Diamond.
I allowed the paste to dry and then I use a die cutting machine and heart dies by Tonic Studios to create a window on the panel.
Using a scrap piece of the same paper I die cut a larger heart shaped frame to paste at the edge of the window. I used a Nuvo Glue Pen to cover the whole surface of the frame and when it dried I sprinkled Sparkle Dust – Silver Sequin. The Nuvo glue pen is fantastic it dries fats and sticky . You can even apply foil using it.
I cut 2 butterflies one our of cardstock and one out of acetate using Tonic Studios - Rococo Die And Stamp Set - Butterfly Juliet. I painted the butterfly made out of cardstock using Nuvo Embellishment Mousse – Gunmetal Grey. I heat emboss the Butterfly made out of acetate using Glitter Embossing Powder – Silver Moonlight
That's all.
I hope you enjoy this project and do not hesitate to ask any question or leave a comment I would love to heard from you.

Stunning Colouring Tools
Blue Nuvo Product Range by Tonic Studios
May 10, 2017
Hello everyone, I have 3 blog post for you today using Nuvo products Range by Tonic Studios, make sure to click in the next button at the end of each post to see them all.
In this post a 8"x 8" inches butterfly frame. This is very simple project to share same pictures of the products applied on paper and also to give you some ideas to use them.
If you are in the UK - Europe you can buy Nuvo supplies at ww.hochanda.com and in USA- Canada and the rest of the word you can buy them at Simon Says Stamp Shop Here!
In the picture: Sapphire Blue Glimmer Paste, Paradise Blue Sparkle Dust, Pacific Teal Embellishment Mousse , Blue Lagoon Glitter Drops, Serenity Blue Embossing Powder.

I'm loving the colour and the results! and what I love the most is how easy is to use these products and how effective they are.
So I have this idea to create my very own stencil to apply the Glimmer Paste. I used Tonic Studios - Rococo Die And Stamp Set - Butterfly Juliet to cut 4 times a piece of metallic cardstock and I used this piece as a regular stencil to apply the paste so that I got the 4 sparkling butterflies on the panel background.
You can make personalised stencils with alphabets dies or any other to apply the Nuvo Glimmer Paste or Nuvo Embellisment Mousses in a very unique way.
I found that the paste slide easier on metallic cardstock and I if is cleaned straight away with a baby wipe your personalized stencil can be reused. You can also use acetate to make your stencils but I do prefer cardstock.
2 idea: I like to overlay images to add dimension and interest so I used the butterfly die used to create the stencil to die cut some butterflies and I overlaid them on top of the glittery images in the backgroud. This is also a good way to guarantee images coordination.
3 idea. Add colour to die cuts, ribbon or any other wooden or metallic accessory with sparkle dust, the mousses or the embossing powder is easy peasy.
Tip: For better results using Sparkle Dust I use Nuvo Glue Pen or a double sided tape - sheet.
4 idea: I mix Nuvo Mousses with water and splatter the mixture on your projects background. This really add a fun texture and lots of interest to the projects.
5 idea: I use the Tim Holtz Stampin Platform to create a Ombré Ink effect on the stamped sentiment and to do this I ink the stamp with contrasting inks. Stamping first the whole image with the lighter colour and stamping over with the darkest ink colour applied just in some areas of the stamp were I want to create dept.
That's all.
I hope you enjoy this project and do not hesitate to ask any question or leave a comment I would love to heard from you.

Pink Nuvo products
Nuvo Glimmer Paste by Tonic Studios | Pink Shaker Card
May 10, 2017It was the very first time I used Nuvo Glimmer Paste and I love it. It takes about 30 -60 minutes to dry completely and it provides spectacular results at first try. This product is easy to apply, it is flexible and once dry it doesn't crack, it is good for variety of crafts on paper, fabric, wood, metal, glass and it sparkles!!
It also can be hand-washed with cold water 78 hours after application in case you want to give it a try on fabric.
Below a picture of the Nuvo pink product range. You can easily order them online at www.hochanda.com or Simon Says Stamp Shop Here!
This time Tonic Studios required to " use all the products in the picture in a single monochromatic project", or at least that is what I understood! So my first thought was creating a simple background applying the mousse or the paste on the front panel and then create a shaker card.
I deciding applying the Nuvo Glimmer Paste as it was more fun and it was new to me.
Ok .. right ... At that point I only had used 1 of the products in the picture and the things already had a lot sparkle ! so I had to find out how to use the other products in the bundle.
I went ahead and I die cut some butterflies out of cardstock and acetate and play around with ideas but then as always I decided to keep it simple.
I went ahead and I die cut some butterflies out of cardstock and acetate and play around with ideas but then as always I decided to keep it simple.
I add colour to one of the butterflies with Nuvo Pink Flame Mousse, other was sparkled with Nuvo Sparkle Dust and other heat embossed using Nuvo Embossing Powder on acetate. There you go 3 more products on a single project! Yay!!
Then adding Nuvo drops on the butterflies was the easier solution. Voila.! I was done.
Once the paste was dry I run the panel though the big shot to die cut a heart shaped window and after doing this a couple of times the paste stay as nice as it was before. It didn't flatten or distort or change the shape.
Honesty the possibilities to use these products are endless.. all depends of the colours you use, how you mix them together to get new colours or accents, which stencils you use and also how you lay out different elements.
The card below was the prepped sent to Paula Pascual for Tonic Studios shows and Demonstration on Hochanda TV click here to watch one of the show ( May 9-2017)
I usually send her a finished project and other half done so she or the demonstrator in the show can easily put all together if there is time and the sample is convenient for the show.
I hope you enjoy this very easy and simple project and get some inspiration to make a next generation of very unique and original cards using glimmer paste.. a lot colours to chose from.
