Today we are celebrating Lucky to Know You a new exciting Simon Says Stamp Release and I got
5 cards to share with you + 2 short videos.

I'm featuring Crocus Flower Wafer Die. Isn't it gorgeous?



So, I was determined to do something simple for you today, something easy with a lot of texture, character and great finishing.

From the wide variety of ideas that crossed my mind,  I first started with a very easy layout that reminds me of my first makes.

Simple Multicolored Cards

• First, I cut the flowers out of the three different paper colours.
• Then, I run the die through the die cutting machine hoping to get all the pieces together.
• I carefully removed the die cuts from the machine and added washi tape at the back of the flowers to keep all the pieces together.

• I wanted to add texture to the background so that I used  Marilyn  Full Card Die that is simply stunning.
• The sentiments are from Tiny Words Encouragement Stamp Set. 

All the "tiny words stamp sets" by Simon Says Stamp are a great addition to your stash .. they are so super useful.

• I also stamped the envelopes using Greetings Mix a stamp set that includes 24 different sentiments, in different fonts and sizes.

Die Cut Pannel

I managed to add various flowers on the main panel to create a very simple composition.

The sentiment is from Bunny Kisses Wafer Die and I framed the little composition using A2 Double Stitched Frame dies By Honey Bee Stamps.

I also used the new Stitching die by Simon Says Stamp to add texture to the background. I only pass it through the machine once, hoping to only create an impression on the paper.

To fully cut a panel with this die Ill advice to use it in with a  metal shim and run the die through the machine a couple of times.

Cauliflowers and Hardlines Background

The unwanted cauliflower or well-known watercolor weed has never been so beautiful.  Together with hardlines, these add the coolest effects to card backgrounds.

To create these backgrounds...

• Laid down the easy-clean mat by Tonic Studios.
• Apply different colors of Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens over the mat.
• Spray water over the ink.
• Place a piece of Arteza watercolor paper over the inked water.
• Wiggle the paper a wee bit over the ink so it will cover the whole background or at least a large part of it.
• Using a heat tool "semi-dry the paper"

After dabbing the paper on the inked surface, there should be ink left over it. If not, I apply more ink and water and I wait for the water to form drops.

Now let's create the texture...

•  Dab the paper over the inked water drops on the mat and hold it for a few seconds to allow the paper to partially absorb the ink.
• Semi-dry the paper using a heat tool.

Background Technique Key 

• The key to creating these awesome backgrounds is to apply extra water to the ink on the easy-clean mat.
• Do not dry the paper completely between color applications. " Semi-Dry it ", this means the ink over the paper shouldn't be totally dry when dabbing the paper again on the inked mat. 
• If you get puddles of inked water on the paper use a heat tool to move them and spread them over the paper so that they will dry while moving or spreading creating large precious hard lines.
• You don't want the ink to blend on the mat as you can get moody colors,  so you can also work one color at the time after adding a large wash over the whole background first.
