Easy Layout Over Embossed Card Base

• This 5x5 inches card base.
• A good card size to use Floral Splash Cut and Emboss Folder.
• As this is a 5x7 inches embossing folder it will emboss the whole panel of the card. 
• You will need a large format (A4) die cutting machine to emboss only the front panel of the card base using 5x7 inches embossing folders.

Once you have the card base done, then you can use the die set, stickers die-cut shapes and embellishments included in the kit to create easy layouts

• For the sentiment, I use a sticker that says "We are stronger, funnier, happier, crazier together".  I glue it over a rectangular piece of gold cardstock and foam mounted on the card base.
• Then, I added all the elements around it.

Easy Striped Card Sketch 

• This simple card sketch is a good starting point to create clean and simple compositions.
• It will allow you to easily mass-produce cards 100% made using supplies in the kit.
• It will also allow you to use the paper included in the kit with minimum waste.

Top Tips

 

• For a better finish, use the double-sided tape to adhere scrapbook paper to the card bases. Liquid glue can generate air bubbles under the paper or it can also make it stiff and bulky.
• Use the sentiments in the stamp set to stamp over the paper lines, on the paper or below the paper lines to complete your design.

• Avoid overthink, I'm trying to practice this more often.
• Remember that less is more. You don't need to cover the whole panel of your card.

The kit is packed with crafty supplies to create anything from little boxes, tags, mini cards or use different elements for scrapbooking.

It includes an 11 pieces die set and I used it to create the card below.

• This is a very clever die set and all the little pieces you can die-cut to complete this convertible car are just darling!
• The car assembled measures  4 x1-1/2 inches.
• I completed the heart-shaped balloon by creating the strings: I  cut very thin strips of paper and I wind them around the tip of my pick tool to create the loops.

I also want to share with you a tip to easily put together different elements from this kit.

So if you haven't think about it I would recommend using Card Making Sketches.

• I'm not a super fan of sketches but I found myself doing the same over and over so it is a pattern.
• There are several sketches available online and on Pinterest.
• The sketches will help you to save paper and to know where to start.
• All you have to do is to find a sketch you like, cut the paper accordingly 
• Glue the paper panels in place and start layering the elements over.

I like minimalistic compositions. So here is an example of how easy is to make an effective card with the perfect message and all the supplies are included in the kit except for the liquid glue.

• TIP: To make the banners pop up a little bit add a matting layer of metallic cardstock behind. It will make all the difference.

Shaker Card

• Using a heart die I cut a window on the card panel  I just made using the glitter paper die cuts.  I saved the die-cut heart piece to make the second card below.
• I also cut a heart-shaped frame our of gold mirror cardstock and I glued over the acetate.
• Using double-sided tape I adhered behind the panel a piece of acetate and  I adhered double-sided foam tape over it to create a box for the confetti and the sequins.
• I then poured sequins and confetti in the box and  I carefully removed the backing paper of the foam tape and stuck a piece of aquamarine cardstock behind to seal the shaker.
• I added the sentiment and  Fashion Gold Embellishments.
• Note: I just realized that Happy Expressions -SDS 153  (die and stamp set) used  to make the sentiment is no longer available on the Spellbinders shop or other retailers.

Card Topper

I also made a card topper with it the die-cut heart I cut out of the panel on the card above,

I added the sentiment and Gold Fashion Embellishments.

Bonus Projects

I also die cut a couple of cards to show you how the die cuts can create a kaleidoscope look and feel.

You can also die-cut the borders using dies included in the set or create a die-cut pattern on a card background as well.

Hello everyone, when my 5 years old daughter Emma and I were unboxing the Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month (April 2019)  we couldn't think about anything else but ballerina dresses. We loved the die set included in the kit.

We also received the Large Die of the Month designed to make a gift card holder with handles, a little tag and a tassel and we also used it to share extra ideas with you today.



We made little ballerina dresses.  We baked and decorate our own cupcakes just to show you how easy could be to use the dies in the kit to make party decorations.

So here is a  9-minutes video to show you how we did it

To make the dress we used foiled paper and metallic silver paper included in the Spellbinders kit of the month.

For the dress skirt, we used tissue paper. You can die cut several layers of this paper in one go then fold and glue the paper as I show in the video.


Emma got an eye for detail that is incredibly good for her age shew chose Nuvo Snow Storm Flakes to embellish it and also Nuvo Gemstones.

We know the kit is very versatile as it is filled with so many beautiful products but this time I also wanted to do something completely different at what I have done before using the kit so there you got an alternative idea. I hope you like it!



We also tried the Spellbinders Large Die of the month - April 2019  together with our die cut dress and paper included in the kit of the month.

It is very easy to assemble this gift card holder.  Although you defo might need instructions to put some of the small parts together especially the tassel and the tissue paper that embellish the gift card holder. I hope my video can help.



I  love this gift card holder and the die set is very comprehensive as it will allow you to create those cute bag handles and it also includes a little tag and a die to cut slits to insert the gift card inside.

We also tried to make some projects in other colours to share more ideas with you.
